چکیده

We have measured the strong coupEng a~(~~) using hadronic decays of 2° bosons coHected by the SLD experiment at SLAC. The data were compared with QCD predictions both at fied order O(a~ ) and including resummed ana~~~ lytic fomdae based on the next-to-leading logarithm approximation. We have performed a comprehensive analysis using event shapes, jet rates, particle correlations, and angtiar energy flows, and have checked the consistency between ag(~~ ) values extracted from these different measures. Combining these resdts we obtain a~(~~) = 0.1200A 0.0025 (exp.) iO.0078(theor.) , where the dominant uncertainty is from uncdcdated higher order contributions. We have dso compared a recent cdctiation by Clay and Ems of energy-energy correlations (EEC) and the asymmetry (AEEC) with our data. We fid that the a~(~j) value obtained for the ~~c is si@cantly lower than that obtained from comparable fits using the O(a~ ) cdcdation of Kunszt md Nason. BOSE-EINSTEIN CORRELATIONS IN PION PRODUCTION AT TRISTAN

Measurement of Bose-Einstein correlations in the production of like-signed pion pairs has been made with the AMY detector at TRISTAN. An event sample of 10120 hadronic events with ranging between 50 to 61 GeV was used. These measurements indicate a strength of the enhancement of ? = 0.61M.07, with a typical correlation size of Ro = 1.16±.08 fm. This value of ? is consistent with measurem...

Threshold Hadronic Event Shapes with Eective Field Theory

Hadronic event shapes, that is, event shapes at hadron colliders, could provide a great way to test both standard and non-standard theoretical models. However, they are significantly more complicated than event shapes at e+e− colliders, involving multiple hard directions, multiple channels and multiple color structures. In this paper, hadronic event shapes are examined with Soft-Collinear Effec...

MULTIHADRON PRODUCTION FOR e e FOR FROM 50 TO 61 GeV, C. M. ENERGIES AND COMPARISON WITH MULTIHADRON PRODUCTION IN HADRONIC INTERACTIONS

Average values of< 1- T >where T is the thrust are presented for e: e: AMY data and are compared with their values in hadronic interactions. As far as possible, similar analysis techniques have been employed in the two different interactions. Similar variation with E is observed for this average in both data. The values of < PT> and < PL > relative to the thrust axis in e e are simila...

W + W − Hadronic Decay Properties

Recent measurements of the properties of W + W − events produced in e + e − collisions at √ s ∼ 183 GeV at LEP are reviewed. The data are used to investigate the predicted effects of final state interactions, specifically " colour reconnection ". 1 Motivation Hadronic data in e + e − collisions can be characterised by event shape distributions and inclusive observables such as charged particle ...
